This is the first Mallard brood I’ve seen this spring, photographed from the bridge at Jack Layton Park.
It’s pretty amazing to see how active these ducklings are at such a young age. They couldn’t be more than a few days old, yet they are actively feeding and keeping up with their mother.
I hope this is the first of many!
