If you spend time searching the skies of Hudson, chances are you’ll see Turkey Vultures.


These large soaring birds rarely flap their wings as they ride columns of rising air known as thermals. It's easy to react to Turkey Vultures because of their size, appearance and foraging habits. Opinions aside, these birds should be appreciated for their key role in our ecosystem.


Here are three Turkey Vultures photographed on Tuesday morning soaring above Jack Layton Park.
