Nest In The Box

We place many pressures on our local ecosystem, but we do help in some ways. And this help includes nesting boxes.


As I walk local trails, I see that many of the boxes in marshes and fields are being used. They provide nesting sites for Tree Swallows, Wood Ducks, Eastern Bluebirds, Hooded Mergansers and other species.


Here is a female Hooded Merganser taking a break from incubating her eggs during today’s warm weather.
