This week, we had a unique guest at Jack Layton Park. An American Coot visited the flooded marsh area.
Although Coots look like ducks, their large feet are not webbed and they are very comfortable on land. One might say they are more like aquatic chickens!
It would be exciting to see American Coots regularly in the marsh area. Here is an image taken from the pedestrian bridge.
