If you were at Jack Layton Park yesterday, you’d know the terns are back in town.
They might look like gulls from a distance, but their angular wings, bright orange bills, raucous calls and aggressive dives are unmistakable. These are Common Terns.
To borrow from a classic 1970s song, “The nights are getting warmer, it won’t be long. Won’t be long till the summer comes. Now that the terns are here again.”
